What are SRS codes, and the difference between hard code and soft code DTC codes?

SRS codes are codes that indicate that there’s something wrong with the airbag system.

There are different types of codes: hard code and soft codes. Soft codes are what you’re able to remove by clicking reset with any scanner tool that is capable of reading SRS codes.

Hard codes are codes that are permanently stored inside the airbag module. These codes are only able to be removed after having the module reset by safetyrestore.com. Whatever else is wrong with the vehicle needs to be repaired or replaced first before putting the reset module back into the vehicle.

Most codes have a name, description, and possible causes which will help narrow down the problem.
